About the show:
Very quickly, they discover that each person's role is to become the executioner of the other two... “HELL IS THE OTHERS”
Others can try to objectify me, but cannot steal my freedom. Huis Clos is at the center of Sartrean existentialism. Once Man has chosen his actions, there is no going back. Sartre takes this idea to its climax: contemplating one's past life is a form of torture.
However, considering Huis Clos as a pessimistic piece would be a mistake: Man should be able to assume his choices for eternity.
Huis Clos therefore invites you to give meaning to your life rather than to endure it. “We always die too early – or too late. And yet life is there, finished; the line is drawn, we must add up. You are nothing but your life. »
